EASTERN PRODUCE KENYA LIMITED is looking for a hardworking and result-oriented individual to fill the following position:
POSITION: ASSISTANT INTERNAL AUDITOR
REFERENCE: EPK-NANDI-IA-24/09/2025
The candidate will be based at our NANDI OFFICE. His or her main role will be to carry out internal audits in all the group estates in an efficient, professional, and effective manner.
Main tasks include:
- Identify business objectives, risks, and evaluate key controls
- Assist in the design and execution of operational audits and IT audits to ensure adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control environment, compliance with Company policies and procedures, and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Work with management to develop acceptable solutions to address issues or gaps identified and follow up with management to ensure remediation is implemented
- Prepare accurate, logical, and detailed workpapers clearly describing the work performed, test results, and conclusions reached
- Conduct risk-based audit engagements, identify control deficiencies, and propose actionable enhancements.
- Verify compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and professional auditing standards.
- Continuously refine audit methodologies to reflect changes in best practices and regulatory mandates.
- Provide system investigation services whenever required.
- Evaluate business continuity and disaster recovery, including backup procedures, business continuity and disaster recovery plans, tests, sites, and usability
Job Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant Finalist
- Desired Certifications: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)/ Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Information systems auditing skills is a strong plus.
- Having worked with appropriate software for audit planning and working papers as well as analytics, especially Teammate software will be an added advantage.
- 3–5 years of relevant work experience
- In-depth knowledge of current auditing methodologies and the full audit cycle.
- Demonstrates a dedication to skill enhancement and training.
- Maintains the highest standards of independence, objectivity and integrity.
